What is DHTML?
DHTML stands for Dynamic HTML. DHTML is used to create web pages that can change their appearance. DHTML allows a web page to change itself after the page has been loaded in the browser. It does not define any new tags. But it makes the existing tags browser. It does not define any new tags. But it makes the existing tags programmable that is, web pages cab react to user input. DHTML can add visual effects and animation in a web page.
For example, the size, color or style of a piece of text can be changed as the user movies the mouse over it. DHTML is a combination of HTML scripts and style sheets. Scripts are small pieces of program code embedded within HTML. Style sheets are files that store style definitions used in a web page. The web page can reference the style sheets to be used. Style definitions allows the user to specify the type, size, colors of various elements used in the web page. DHTML allows to apply different styles to web page elements depending on user action. Several style sheets can be used in combination.
